CR2016, CR2025 and CR2032 share a 20 mm diameter but rise from 1.6 to 3.2 mm in height. CR1616, CR1620 and CR1632 repeat that pattern at 16 mm.

The CR16 series includes 1616, 1620 and 1632; the CR20 series includes 2016, 2025 and 2032. CR2430 and CR2450 share a 24.5 mm published diameter but differ by 2 mm in height.
These families all sit at 3 V nominal in the current scope, so voltage cannot distinguish the near-sizes. The full dimensional code and device requirement do that work.
Key fobs, watches, sensors and compact electronics may use CR cells, but a device category never proves the required size. Two models of the same product type can use different heights or diameters.
Capacity statements remain product-specific and test-qualified. A thicker cell’s potential service advantage does not authorise its use in a compartment designed for a thinner one.
Coin cells can cause severe injury if swallowed. Keep packaged and spent cells secured away from children, use intact child-resistant compartments and follow the official country route immediately if ingestion is suspected.
