Coverage boundary
The catalogue is intentionally limited to families for which a current primary or manufacturer source supports identity and core specifications. Unsupported markings are not guessed into the database; they remain excluded until evidence is available.
Why the site exists
Battery labels mix IEC designations, manufacturer numbers and shop aliases. A retail chart can make two codes look interchangeable even when height, chemistry, voltage or drain behaviour differs. Battery Codebook resolves supported markings to one canonical record and keeps the physical and electrical decision fields visible.
How records are maintained
Records begin with current manufacturer evidence, are canonicalised so aliases do not create duplicate pages, and receive a checked date after factual review. Corrections are compared with primary evidence; unresolved conflicts are not converted into confident replacement claims.
